New Zealand and the wider Pacific. Today Ship Cove is a rare, unspoilt paradise. You will have time to explore it before setting off on your walk.

As the Queen Charlotte Track leaves Ship Cove it climbs quite steeply through some of the oldest surviving native forest in the region. On reaching the first saddle you are rewarded with a particularly fine view over Motuara Island. Often the North Island coast is clearly visible. The Track makes an easy descent to Resolution Bay where many walkers enjoy a short break at the Cabins to sample the home baking! An easy rise from Resolution Bay Cabins takes you over the next saddle and into Endeavour Inlet. There are numerous fine views on the way and a seat to rest on as you enjoy the first glimpse of  the Inlet. Another section of fine forest takes you along an easy section of the Track to historic Furneaux Lodge at the head of Endeavour Inlet. This is the "pub with no road" where you can enjoy some refreshment before embarking with Endeavour Express for the return cruise to Picton, picking up trampers from along the Track as we go.

The "Resolution Ramble"

There is ample time to explore Ship Cove and perhaps enjoy the short side walk to the twin waterfalls (about 20 minutes) before starting on your main walk which takes you through beautiful native bush to Resolution Bay.

Here you will have plenty of time for a picnic or to enjoy a farmhouse style lunch at Resolution Bay Cabins.  You may like to feed the tame fish which live off the end of the wharf, they will reward you with a captivating display of fishy antics!

Our boat return to collect you from Resolution Bay at around 2:30 p.m and transfer you to Furneaux Lodge in Endeavour Inlet. Here you can enjoy approximately an hour ashore before we depart Picton bound at 3:15 p.m

Again, we cruise out to historic Ship Cove where you will have the opportunity for a brief shore visit. Reboard the boat as we continue our cruise to Resolution Bay where you disembark. Take a break for a delicious morning tea or stay for an early lunch before starting on the Queen Charlotte Track.

Your walk will take you through regenerating bush (Resolution Bay was once farmland) as you make the steady, but easy, climb to the saddle overlooking Endeavour Inlet. There is then a magnificent stretch of native forest as the Track descends to Furneaux Lodge at the head of the Inlet.
